Hello there! My name is Amber Araneae, some simply call me Spider. My Pronouns are She/Her/Hers
Spider has been my nickname since I was a little girl and I have always had a strong association (and academic obsession) with the beautiful creatures.
I have been a member of Ár nDraíocht Féin: A Druid Fellowship (ADF) and leadership within Columbia Grove in Portland Oregon since 2015. ADF is "is a Pagan church based on ancient Indo-European traditions expressed through public worship, study, and fellowship."
I am currently the Chief Druid and Scribe for Columbia Grove and I lead the ADF Dedicant Path study group for our grove with monthly meetings to discuss a variety of topics. I lead a volunteer work-focused Nature Awareness program in the Portland Oregon that focuses on tree plantings, invasive species removal, nature walks, plant identification, and clean-up efforts. I also lead ADF High Day rituals at Coffee Creek Correctional Women's Prison once a month.
*As of April 2021 I am the new Northwest Regional Druid in ADF!*
I approach my Druidry with a 15+ year background in eclectic plant-focused Witchcraft. (I've identified as a Druid since 2014) I am a ADF Druid, Polytheist. I am a Libra with a passion for hiking, waterfalls, camping, and all things outdoors. I have scholarly passions in world anthropology and archaeology and I am an academic fiend in near all cultural and religious history.
I have a biology science degree focused in human genetics and botany.
If it involves, poisonous plants, venomous animals, insects, arachnids, amphibians, mollusks, shadow work, trees, science, parasites, human genetics, Irish mythology, Baltic mythology, or nature spirituality in general, you absolutely have my attention!
I live in Oregon with my Husband who is also an ADF Druid, our son, a boa constrictor named Leeloo, and 6 arachnids named after YA book characters. ;)
