Each year on the 1st of the year I draw a token that has one of the 9 druidic ADF virtues on it. That virtue is my focus for the year and I try to do it as much justice as I can.
Last year I drew Wisdom. I spent a LOT of time studying and even encouraged our grove to start doing rituals from an entirely new culture (to us) Anglo-Saxon. This meant I had to do a LOT of research and personal connection work. I learned new divination methods (Lenormand) and went to workshops and read books on many different pagan deities and topics. This year I drew Integrity. The ADF definition of Integrity is: "Honor; being trustworthy to oneself and to others, involving oath-keeping, honesty, fairness, respect, self-confidence" I was just elected as Chief Druid/Scribe of Columbia Grove and am taking on a lot of responsibilities that I feel I will need to show integrity in all that I do. I find it interesting that I draw this virtue after a year of not being leadership in our grove. It truly fits. I also have set goals for volunteer work this year that I hope will help set an example to other grove members to get involved with local community projects. <3
