The seeds are falling from the flowers
There is balance in the day and night hours The leaves are shedding from the trees We feel the autumn crisp wind’s breeze As my garden begins to sleep I will not mourn, I will not weep I will hold space for all that dies As this season shifts, so too shall I For balance is found in living and death I hold power within this breath Autumn is here for it is your turn Now is a time to harvest and learn As a child of earth I honor your shift Fall is around us, I welcome this gift ~Amber Araneae 2017

Prayer to the Isopod
Evolutionary marvel, older than mankind, I ask for your strength today. Called “insect” or “bug”, and given cute nicknames, you are none of those things in truth. Inspire me to know that the labels others put on me, don’t define who I really am. Help me see that it’s an evolutionary skill to curl up sometimes and wear my armor when frightened or overwhelmed. It’s not a sign of weakness, when I take the time to put self-preservation into play. A liminal animal who’s lineage branches to both earth and sea, help me adapt to environments that seem too difficult to thrive in. Lead me through the darkness that you call home, my friend, so I do not fear it’s shadow. Strong little Isopod, May your many legs walk beside me and be my guide. May your influence motivate me to view the world in a new light today. -Amber Araneae 2020 For the month of November 2019 I was issued the challenge to write one prayer each day. I not only completed this challenge (yay!), but I also very much so enjoyed the process and found it meditative each day. Here are all 30 of my prayers/invocations/poems.
