Invocation and Prayer to the Celtic Mannanán mac Lir

In invocation to Mannanán mac Lir

God of the sea, who controls the ocean.
I offer to you, my deepest devotion.

A God of the Sidhe, and keeper of gates.
A liminal God that can cross between states.

Your boat, it is said, can travel all the seas.
“Wave sweeper”, its name, rivaled the breeze.

The fish are your livestock they fill your domain.
Your horses, the waves, run wild without reins.

The weather changes with your simple command,
and you weave your magic to protect your lands.

I call to you now, Mannanán mac Lir!
May you hear my voice, and join me here.

A Devotional Prayer to Mannanán mac Lir

I hear your waves,
But I’m trapped inside here.

I smell your ocean,
But the walls interfere.

I see your fish,
But only land is nearby

I touch your water,
But my hand is dry.

I feel your Breeze,
But I’m bundled up tight.

I yearn for your sea,
But I’m not there tonight.

I sense you now,
Mannanán mac Lir.

I’m far from your ocean,
but my heart holds you dear.
